REPERTOIRE


FIRST ROUND (duration max 35 minutes)

1. Prelude and Fugue or Interludium and Fugue by one of the following composers: Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Paul Hindemith, Dmitri Shostakovich, Rodion Shchedrin or Veljo Tormis.
2. Etude by Frédéric Chopin (except Op 10 No 3 & 6 and Op 25 No 7) or Ferenc Liszt (except Op 1).
3. Etude freely chosen by the competitor (except by the composer chosen in point 2).
4. Sonata or variations by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or Ludwig van Beethoven.

Duration of the first round should not exceed 35 minutes. In case of a large number of competitors the jury has the right to shorten the programs, ask the candidate to leave out a work or to perform selected movements from the chosen sonata.


SECOND ROUND (duration 50-60 minutes)


1. Freely chosen Estonian music (minimum 10 minutes).

2. Free program which contains music from at least 2 different styles (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic etc). Works which demand preparing piano or performing inside the piano on the strings are NOT allowed.
